A design document is the first step in developing a learning solution. It is used to communicate course content to stakeholders and create a general structure of the desired course before storyboard design begins.

This Design Document is a brief overview that outlines a 14-minute Articulate Storyline 360 course that aims to train the Employee Relations team in companies that have experienced an increase in employee turnover rates, employee absenteeism and frequent tardiness. It presents eight Motivation strategies that the Employee Relations team can implement to promote a positive workplace culture.

A storyboard is used to lay out the structure, navigation, content, and audio for an e-Learning course. It is revised and finalized with all stakeholders before moving forward with development.
This details a much more in-depth look into the Articulate Storyline 360 course that aims to train the Employee Relations team in companies that have experienced an increase in employee turnover rates, employee absenteeism and frequent tardiness. It specifies exactly how the course will look, with instructions on color palette, font type and size, visual display, on-screen text, narration and how the user will interact with the course.
